My husband, teenager, and I stayed at Howzit Hostels for a few nights during our trip to Maui. The balcony provided a great outdoor dining space. The location was ideal for exploring various sites around the island, and street parking was easily accessible. The hotel staff offered helpful advice for our day trip to the Road to Hana, including the best time to start and a must-visit beach where sea turtles gather at sunset.

The staff at the hostel were very friendly and helpful, always providing great service. Additionally, the hostel had a cozy common area where it was easy to interact with other guests, creating a friendly atmosphere. Another advantage was the convenient location, not far from a bus station, convenience store, and local eateries.

The Wi-Fi at the hostel was problematic, often taking more than 5 minutes to connect and experiencing frequent drops, which was frustrating. The 8 bed dorm room felt quite cramped and lacked fresh air.

As bike riders, we loved the friendly staff and the sense of community at the hostel. The hostel offered a range of activities that made it easy for us to meet new people. We also appreciated the fact that beach towels and snorkeling equipment were provided, making our beach adventures hassle-free.

Felt like VIPs, no complaints.

No clear mask policy which added stress. Limited bathroom facilities with shared showers.

During my Christmas stay on Maui, I enjoyed several positive aspects of the hostel. the location was convenient, with free parking available nearby and easy access to the airport. the helpful and friendly staff provided valuable information, making my visit to the nearby I’ao Valley State Park Monument an enjoyable experience. Lastly, the free self-serve breakfast, including eggs and pancake mix, was a nice touch that helped kickstart my days on the island.

There were some aspects of the hostel that I found less appealing. The small kitchen and common areas tended to get crowded, making it difficult to prepare meals during peak times.

I had a fantastic stay at Howzit Hostels. The atmosphere was safe, good, and friendly, making me feel right at home. The free shuttle to the airport was convenient, and there was even a beach near the airport and the entrance to Iao Valley park, perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings. The breakfast included self-made pancakes, 2 eggs, and tea/coffee, which was a nice touch. The hostel was located close to a bus stop, making it easy to get around. The laundry and iron facilities were also a plus. I highly recommend Howzit Hostels for budget travelers and adventure seekers.

I had a great stay at the hostel. The front office staff, Momo, was very polite and helpful. Checking in was quick and fun. The private room was nice and quiet, and the views from the balcony were amazing. The location was excellent - we were able to walk to the Wailuku First Friday event without having to drive. it was one of the nicest and well-run hostels I've stayed at.

No 😕 - Some of the solo rooms didn't have air conditioning, which wasn't ideal when it was hot at night. The shared bathrooms were overcrowded and inconvenient as they contained both showers and toilets.

Breakfast delights, but could benefit from more variety.

The kitchen at Howzit Hostels was amazing! There was plenty of fridge space and they even had international stamps to mail postcards. I loved that there were four bathrooms so I never had to wait, and the kitchen was stocked with utensils and other cooking essentials. I found free condiments and other things I needed, which saved me money. the kitchen made my stay so much more convenient and enjoyable.
